Growing Hope for Elayne and Blayne

Elayne and Blayne’s family raises awareness for Tay-Sachs disease and funds for research and family services.

Meet Elayne (22 months old) and Blayne (2 months old), they are the happiest of siblings that are living with a rare diagnosis of Tay-Sachs.

Tay-Sachs disease is a recessive genetic, neurodegenerative disorder where the absence of a key enzyme causes fatty substances to build up, which damages the brain and spinal cord. There is no cure for the disease, and Tay-Sachs disease is fatal in children.

Despite the diagnosis these two are such happy babies and blessed with parents who love them so deeply. They are determined to live life to the fullest as a family of 4, while still advocating and searching for treatments that could potentially help alleviate symptoms as they arise.

Elayne LOVES reading books and eating peaches! Blayne loves just being around family and being included in all the things. Both love snuggles and play with their cousins.

While we don’t know what the future holds, we are determined to keep looking for answers and showering these two with all the love we have to give.
