Virtual Biorepository

Supporting our Research Community through Sample Sharing

An important part of NTSAD’s mission is to forge collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and industry to drive research toward effective treatments for Tay-Sachs, Canavan, GM1, and Sandhoff diseases. To that goal, NTSAD has created a virtual biorepository to facilitate the sharing of research samples including cell lines and patient samples among researchers and clinicians.

NTSAD will serve as a connection point between researchers looking to locate and share samples. We will not physically collect or house biological samples.

Our inventory of samples can be searched by sample type and/or a specific disease.

Request a Sample

To request a sample, please fill out the Sample Request Form. NTSAD’s research team will connect you with the researcher who has the requested sample and arrange a sample transfer to you. To ensure this process works for everyone, following the transfer of samples we will ask for your feedback via a survey helping us to improve this vital resource.

Contribute

If you are interested in contributing samples from your group or institution to be listed on our growing virtual biorepository resource, please email us at research@ntsad.org, so we may send you what you need to contribute.

We will be happy to provide you with the necessary materials to contribute.

Thank you for advancing research and supporting families in our efforts to find effective treatments.
